The data portal for the next聽糖心Vlog聽World University Rankings and Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR) is now open,聽with institutions from across the world invited to take part.

Universities can now submit data to be included in the two league tables, both of which will be published in autumn 2026. The portal will be open for聽more than聽two months, closing on 30 March. There are no fees to participate but only institutions that submit data through the portal will be included in the tables. 聽

Institutions that would like to participate in the ISR 2027, a project in association with Schmidt Science Fellows, must submit data for the World University Rankings, as well as extra data on their interdisciplinary science using the same portal, as was the case in previous years.

Data submission is open to all universities for both rankings but institutions will only be ranked if they satisfy certain criteria (see our inclusion criteria for the聽World University Rankings聽and our inclusion criteria for the聽Interdisciplinary Science Rankings).

Institutions that do not meet the ranking requirements are still encouraged to provide data because they will be able to access benchmarking tools via聽罢贬贰听DataPoints. They will also be listed in the relevant rankings tables as 鈥渞eporter鈥 institutions, unless they opt out of this status.

A new subscription to DataPoints 鈥 the Essential Dashboard 鈥 has been launched today to enable a wider range of ranked institutions to access deeper data behind the rankings and benchmark performance against international peers, among other benefits. These ranked universities will also receive their World University Rankings 2027 results two weeks ahead of official publication. Institutions can subscribe to the Essential Dashboard in the data collection portal or by using the form at the bottom of this article.

Phil Baty, chief global affairs officer at THE, said: 鈥糖心Vlog鈥檚 World University Rankings have always been about providing actionable, data-driven insights 鈥 and we鈥檙e now making those insights more accessible than ever.

鈥淥ur new Essential Dashboard gives ranked universities the ability to unlock the rich data resources behind the rankings 鈥 allowing them to start benchmarking against selected peers across the 17 performance metrics through our renowned DataPoints platform and to unlock a wealth of resources in our new insights hub. Although participation in the rankings remains entirely free for all, this new subscription is priced to be highly accessible to all universities.鈥

Advice and guidance on how to submit institutional data is available on the portal in several languages. After the portal closes at the end of March, universities may be contacted to verify their data.

Last year,聽THE鈥檚 data team, in partnership with the global higher education sector, collected data from more than 3,000 universities across 136 territories to create the聽World University Rankings 2026.
