Overview:

Join a multidisciplinary research team supporting a portfolio of projects exploring why pro-environmental and prosocial intentions often fail to translate into sustained action. Research topics include connection (interconnectedness, compassion), agency, intrinsic/extrinsic motivation, behavior change, mindfulness, organizational and consumer behavior, and intervention design across cultural contexts.

Key responsibilities


	Lead/support study design, literature reviews, and protocol development across projects
	Develop surveys, experiments, and intervention materials; assist with piloting and fidelity checks
	Recruit and coordinate participants and manage fieldwork in Hong Kong and across Asia Clean, code, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data (R/SPSS/Stata; NVivo/ATLAS.ti or similar)
	Draft IRB/ethics submissions, pre registrations, methods sections, reports, and manuscripts
	Prepare policy/practice briefs and present findings to academic and practitioner audiences
	Manage project documentation, timelines, data storage, and partner coordination


Minimum qualifications & skills


	PhD in Psychology, Behavioral Science or related field
	Strong quantitative and qualitative methods skills; experience with experiments/interventions preferred
	Familiarity with behavior change frameworks (e.g., TPB, Self-Determination Theory), mindfulness/compassion literature desirable
	Experience publishing or presenting research preferred; strong academic writing ability Comfortable working independently and in remote, multicultural teams; excellent organization and communication
	Fluent in English; Chinese literacy is an advantage

The Position

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides enterprise technology services that support ANU’s research, teaching, and public policy activities. The Australian National University is seeking an experienced Change and Communication Lead to support the successful delivery of strategic digital transformation initiatives within the Research Stream. This role will lead change management and communication activities for major research technology projects, including the implementation of a new Research Funding and Grants Management Solution. The HEON Graduate Outreach Assistant will contribute to the design and delivery of HEON’s wide-ranging outreach programmes. The post will support the collection, organisation and tracking of data to support the monitoring and evaluation of the programme. Within the School of Veterinary Medicine, you will join the Section of Molecular Cellular Medicine within the Discipline of Comparative Biomedical Sciences. In the role you will:


	Establish and lead a sustainable research group, developing complex, multi-organ in vitro models for predictive disease research
	Work collaboratively with other researchers in the School to design and develop applications of in vitro models in their research areas
	Generate high quality publications and demonstrable impact
	Secure significant external research income to support the work of your research group

The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a high-profile joint venture between The University of Western Australia (UWA) and Curtin University, supported by the Western Australian Government. ICRAR is one of Australia’s largest astronomy institutions and a leading participant in the international Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project. The Centre has secured further funding through to 2030, supporting ambitious research programs across astronomy, engineering and advanced technologies.

The Astrophotonics Program brings together researchers from astronomy, physics and engineering to develop and deploy advanced photonic technologies. The team’s expertise includes highly stabilised timing and communication systems, transmitted via optical fibre networks and free-space laser links, with applications ranging from radio astronomy and space science to quantum technologies and national security.

About the opportunity


	Conduct research and development on atmospheric laser communication links and advanced photonic systems for terrestrial and space applications.
	Design, build and test experimental hardware, undertake atmospheric modelling and simulations, and analyse research data to evaluate system performance.
	Support laboratory activities, field trials and technology deployments in collaboration with academic, industry, government and defence partners.

About you 


	A PhD or close to completing a PHD in physics, astronomy, engineering, photonics, optics, telecommunications or a closely related discipline, with a demonstrated track record of research publication in peer-reviewed journals.
	Experience conducting experimental and/or computational research in a relevant scientific or engineering field, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
	Knowledge or experience in areas such as free-space optical communications, laser systems, atmospheric propagation modelling, photonics or optical engineering.
	Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and build productive relationships with academic, industry and government collaborators.
	A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, with the ability to contribute positively to student supervision, team activities and the broader research community.
