Tekirdag Namik Kemal University was named after Namik Kemal, a 19th century intellectual and political reformist.
It is located in Turkey’s northern extremity of East Thrace, close to the Greek and Bulgarian borders on the north shore of the Sea of Marmara.
The university has faculties in arts and science, engineering, agriculture, fine arts, economic and administrative science, medicine, theology, law, health science, sports science, economics and administrative science and engineering and veterinary medicine and the State Conservatory.
