Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine Livestock and Biotechnologies was originally established in 1929 in order to advance the region’s agricultural sector and safeguard animal health. It is officially recognised by the Ministry of ����Vlog and the Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 
The university is situated in the ancient city of Samarkand in southeastern Uzbekistan.  
The university is comprised of seven faculties: Faculty of Veterinary Prevention and Treatment, Faculty of Veterinary Diagnostics and Food Safety, Faculty of Zoo-Engineering, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Agrotechnology, and the Faculty of Standardisation and Processing of Products. Each faculty is divided intro different departments, which offer a wide range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. 
Outside the classroom, students benefit from experiential learning opportunities, including internships, fieldwork, and partnerships with industry stakeholders. 
Throughout the academic year, students engage in research across disciplines, exploring advancements in biotechnology, genetics, and animal husbandry to enhance productivity, sustainability, and animal welfare.

The scope of your work will be:


	participation in theoretical and practical teaching at the workplace
	preparation of the study and teaching materials

Required qualification:

About the area

The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a high-profile joint venture between The University of Western Australia (UWA) and Curtin University, supported by the Western Australian Government. ICRAR is one of Australia’s largest astronomy institutions and a leading participant in the international Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project. The Centre has secured further funding through to 2030, supporting ambitious research programs across astronomy, engineering and advanced technologies.

The Astrophotonics Program brings together researchers from astronomy, physics and engineering to develop and deploy advanced photonic technologies. The team’s expertise includes highly stabilised timing and communication systems, transmitted via optical fibre networks and free-space laser links, with applications ranging from radio astronomy and space science to quantum technologies and national security.

Based at UWA’s picturesque Matilda Bay campus in Perth, you will join a collaborative and innovative research environment that supports flexible work arrangements and values work-life balance.

About the opportunity


	Conduct research and development on atmospheric laser communication links and advanced photonic systems for terrestrial and space applications.
	Design, build and test experimental hardware, undertake atmospheric modelling and simulations, and analyse research data to evaluate system performance.
	Support laboratory activities, field trials and technology deployments in collaboration with academic, industry, government and defence partners.
	Publish high-quality research outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
	Contribute to collaborative research projects, helping to generate impactful research outcomes and advance the objectives of the Astrophotonics Program.
	Support student research supervision and contribute to the collegial, governance and strategic activities of ICRAR and UWA.


About you 


	A PhD or close to completing a PHD in physics, astronomy, engineering, photonics, optics, telecommunications or a closely related discipline, with a demonstrated track record of research publication in peer-reviewed journals.
	Experience conducting experimental and/or computational research in a relevant scientific or engineering field, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
	Knowledge or experience in areas such as free-space optical communications, laser systems, atmospheric propagation modelling, photonics or optical engineering.
	Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and build productive relationships with academic, industry and government collaborators.
	A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, with the ability to contribute positively to student supervision, team activities and the broader research community.

You will work with guidance and direction from course coordinators. This exclusive role will drive forward a partnership between Flinders University and the South Australian Department for Education, where you will have the opportunity to independently manage and execute school food evaluation research guided by an annual work plan co-designed with the Department for Education. You will support the coordination and execution of a range of school food research projects. You will also have the opportunity to deliver meaningful work across the following responsibilities:


	Overseeing the co-design of an annual workplan that meets the needs of partners, Flinders University and South Australian Department of Education. Additionally, leading the implementation of this workplan.
	Coordinating the work of the Thinking Outside the Lunchbox project and to successfully deliver project milestones and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
	Making independent and original contributions to the planning and execution of research design, project management, research activities, implementation and analysis, writing up results and outcomes dissemination.
	Contributing to the submission of research grants and funding applications.

	Demonstrated experience in research methodology, specifically at least one of: (a) program evaluation, (b) school-based research and (c) intervention research.
