Established in 2008, Qom University of Technology (QUT) is a public technical university located in Qom, Iran. The university began its activities with just two programmes, industrial engineering and computer engineering, reflecting its original focus on developing specialised technical education in the region. It has since expanded its academic provision, but maintains a strong academic focus on engineering, technology and applied science.

The university is located on the old Tehran Road in Qom, close to the city’s northern outskirts.��

QUT’s academic provision is compact, with three main faculties: engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and basic sciences. The university offers 11 programmes, including civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, energy engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, physics engineering and polymer engineering. All programmes are available at undergraduate and master’s level, with the university currently home to around 2,000 students.

Outside the classroom, QUT supports a wide range of student and cultural organisations, including its counselling, health and lifestyle centre, nutrition department, administration of Quranic activities, and several cultural and artistic centres.��

A notable aspect of student life is the university’s scientific-association culture, with specialist associations connected to fields such as nanotechnology, materials science and industrial engineering. These organisations provide students with opportunities to organise technical courses, academic events, and extracurricular activities alongside their formal studies.
