As Faculty Manager, you will operate as the Executive Dean’s strategic partner. Leading the professional operations of the Faculty while helping shape its future direction, sustainability and growth. This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for financial stewardship, organisational performance, workforce capability, operational excellence and enterprise-wide influence. Leading a diverse portfolio of professional services, you will work across teaching, research and engagement activities to ensure the Faculty remains responsive, sustainable and positioned for future opportunities. You will influence decisions at the highest levels of the University, represent the Faculty across senior forums and drive initiatives that strengthen performance, capability and innovation. You will make an impact by: Partnering with the Executive Dean to shape Faculty strategy, performance and long-term sustainability Leading financial planning, resource allocation and commercial initiatives across a significant Faculty portfolio Leading and developing a multi-layered professional leadership team, building capability and organisational effectiveness Driving transformation initiatives, new operating models and continuous improvement across Faculty operations Providing leadership on risk, governance, accreditation and operational priorities while influencing broader University decision making What you will bring You are a strategic and commercially astute leader who can balance operational excellence with long-term thinking. You understand how complex organisations work and can translate strategy into action while building strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. You bring a collaborative leadership style, strong business acumen and the ability to lead through complexity, ambiguity and change. Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering (Civil & Urban Engineering) seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work on a broader field of geotechnical engineering. Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a B.S. in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with any level of experience, or a Master’s degree and less than 5 years of research experience in the relevant field. Research Project: The successful candidate will assist a research project focused on advancing the design, testing, and analysis of resilient and sustainable geotechnical systems using centrifuge modeling. The work will bridge advanced experimental testing with complementary numerical simulation to generate insights for infrastructure and energy applications. The researcher will be expected to: Assist in design, implementation, and analysis of centrifuge experiments. Integrate findings with numerical models for validation and deeper interpretation. Assist in development of innovative experimental apparatus (SolidWorks proficiency is a plus). Disseminate results through high-quality publications in reputable journals. Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team of faculty, postdocs, and students.
