The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology provides both secondary and post-secondary skills training.
Its mission is to provide high school and post-secondary education and training activities in the fields of technology, vocational training and adult education, to assist individuals in finding and keeping employment and to respond to Manitoba's labour market needs.
The institute offers over 25 part-time and full-time post secondary programmes falling under the categories of business and information technology, healthcare, lifelong learning institute, human services, skilled trades, and Youthbuild courses.
It works with the industry to help identify gaps in the market and create course that can help to fill those gaps.
All students on every programme will complete MITT鈥檚 Work Skills course. This includes a series of workshops which help to develop a students' employability skills and how to write resumes and look for and apply for jobs.
MITT has six campuses across Winnipeg, Manitoba: Henlow, Fultz, Scurfield, Pembina, Erin and MITT YouthBuild. Within those it has six adult learning centres: the CrossRoads Learning Centre, the Horizons Learning Centre, the Portage Learning and Literacy Centre, the St. Norbert Adult Education Centre, the St. Vital Adult Learning Centre, and the United Food and Commercial Workers Centre.
