Manash Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Kazakhstan and is located in Petropavlovsk in the northern region of the country.
The university was founded in 1937 as a teacher training institute and later evolved into a multidisciplinary institution. It was renamed in 2003 in honour of academic Manash Kozybayev and reorganised in 2020 into its current university structure.
It offers more than 75 academic programmes across bachelors, masters and doctoral levels. Programmes include medicine, engineering, agriculture, education, humanities, languages, law, economics, mathematics and natural sciences.
Student life includes academic societies, cultural activities, volunteering initiatives and participation in regional and national competitions across sport, science and creative disciplines.
It has extensive sports facilities including outdoor and indoor sports areas, gymnasiums and courts that support student participation at multiple competitive levels.

The New York University Abu Dhabi Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab seeks to hire a post-doctoral researcher to work in any of the lab research areas, to be involved in the development of open source tools and resources, and to work on publications related to their work. CAMeL's mission is research and education in artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on natural language processing, computational linguistics, and data science. The main lab research areas are Arabic natural language processing (orthography normalization, grammatical error correction, morphology tagging, syntax parsing, readability assessment), machine translation, and text analytics. Since its establishment in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has produced over 200 publications and 20 language resources and tools. The lab website is��http://www.camel-lab.com/. The position will target the rank of Post-Doctoral Associate (within less than 5 years of experience post receiving their PhD). A strong preference is for individuals with (a) computer science or computer engineering degrees with previous experience in natural language processing; or computational linguistics/language technologies degrees; (b) strong programming skills and machine learning experience; and (c) a research publication record appropriate for the hiring rank. Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred, but not required. Previous work on Arabic NLP is preferred but not required.

The Student Hub is seeking two passionate and motivated Student Hub Coordinators to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As a Student Hub Coordinator, you will manage a caseload of students with complex or multifaceted circumstances, providing proactive support to overcome barriers to success and enhance student engagement, progression and retention. Acting as a key point of contact, you will deliver specialist advice and guidance across a range of areas, including fees and funding, accommodation, academic progression, wellbeing and disability support. You will work closely with colleagues across the University to coordinate timely and effective support tailored to individual student needs.

You will use engagement data and student information to identify those at risk of disengagement, working collaboratively with specialist services to support positive outcomes. The role also involves promoting the Student Hub through communications, events and outreach activities.

The role requires flexibility to work a rotating 7-hour shift pattern between 08:00 and 18:00 across Student Hub locations, including Winchester. Occasional evening and weekend working will also be required.

The Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on "Application of Membrane Desalination to Treat Water from UAE Feed Sources," under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering and Professor Raed Hashaikeh, Professor of Mechanical Engineering.

The successful applicant will lead an innovative project focused on developing advanced, high-flux membrane technologies tailored to the unique and extreme water conditions of the Arabian Gulf. He/she will tackle challenges related to high salinity (up to 47,000 ppm) and severe biological fouling, driving innovations in high-pressure Reverse Osmosis (RO) processes.

The role involves characterizing local seawater and desalination brine to inform targeted membrane design, as well as advanced membrane fabrication techniques utilizing electrospinning, phase inversion, and additive manufacturing. The researcher will also develop robust pretreatment processes (MF, UF, NF) to protect systems against harsh regional challenges, including harmful algal blooms. Experimental and theoretical investigations of mass transport, compaction, and energy efficiency will be performed to optimize desalination processes for regional sustainability.

The successful applicant will oversee projects, develop extensive technical expertise, and implement innovative solutions. He/she will contribute to the development of novel concepts and proposal writing, while efficiently addressing complex challenges. Responsibilities will include writing reports, authoring publications, drafting patents, and presenting results at conferences. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated knowledge of membrane fabrication, characterization, and separation processes. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are essential. The candidate should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Applicants must have a PhD, or equivalent advanced or terminal degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, in materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, or related field, with no more than 5 years post receipt of the PhD. Excellent experimental and analytical skills relevant to the project are required. Candidates with a demonstrated history of peer-reviewed publications in a related area, along with prior expertise in materials science and analytical chemistry will be preferred.

This position will begin in September 2026, as a two-year contract, renewable depending on performance. Description

The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work on a fascinating project focused on the geomechanical modeling for energy applications. The position will be directly supervised by Professor Mostafa Mobasher and will involve strong collaboration with the SHORES multidisciplinary research teams.

The project will be focused on advanced modeling of coupled fracture/damage of geomechanical materials when subjected a range of multiphysical loading regimes including hydraulic, thermal, and chemical processes. The direct applications of these research will be aimed at enhanced modeling of hydraulic fracturing and carbon sequestration. The project activities will involve the development of the theory and implementation of the advanced mechanics and numerical models as well as constitutive model calibration and validation based on physical experimental data.

Required Qualifications:

A successful applicant must have a PhD in Engineering Mechanics, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Applicants are expected to demonstrate research experience in the fields of computational mechanics and computational geomechanics.

Preferred Qualifications:


	Experience in the following areas is preferred:
	Experience in modeling geomechanical systems
	Experience in modeling hydraulic fracturing and carbon sequestration
	Experience in Multiphysics modeling in solid mechanics framework
	Experience in non-linear solid material response and fracture modeling
	Experience in machine-learning modeling for solid mechanics applications
	Experience in the development and coupling of numerical methods for solid mechanics modeling
	Experience in digital rock technology, including advanced imaging and related analysis
	Experience in the performance of high pressure and temperature triaxial tests
	Experience in experimental rock mechanics
