Basic information and contact details for Karshi State Technical University
Karshi State Technical University was established in 2024 following the consolidation of several regional higher education institutions, including the Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute, the Karshi Institute of Irrigation and Agrotechnologies, and local branches of major technical universities based in Tashkent.
The university builds on a longer history of technical and engineering education in southern Uzbekistan, particularly through the Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute, founded in 1995, and was created to strengthen regional capacity in engineering, technology, and industrial development.
The university operates across a central campus in Karshi, a regional city in southern Uzbekistan and the administrative centre of Kashkadarya.
There are seven faculties within the university: energy engineering, transport and construction engineering, oil, gas and geology, irrigation engineering, economics and management, digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and the Shahrisabz Faculty of Food Engineering. Each faculty is divided into different departments, offering a variety of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programmes.
Research and innovation are central to the university’s mission, with priority areas including energy systems, industrial technologies, and digital transformation.
