Horus University was established in 2013.

The university is located in New Damietta, a rapidly growing city in the north of Egypt. 

The university is organised into 10 faculties: dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, engineering, business administration, medicine, applied health sciences technology, fine arts and design, Al-Alsun and translation, and artificial intelligence and information. Within each faculty are different departments, each offering a range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level.

Since it opened, the university has developed several partnerships with other higher education institutions across the globe in order to support academic exchange, joint research, and curriculum development. 

The university is guided by 10 core values: academic excellence, integrity and transparency, research and innovation, community service, diversity and inclusion, collaboration and partnerships, lifelong learning, leadership and responsibility, quality and excellence, and sustainability and environmental responsibility.
