Hamdard University is a private research university based in Karachi and Islamabad in Pakistan. Established in 1991, Hamdard University takes its name from the Hamdard Foundation – the educational charity that founded it. The university is one of the oldest private universities in the country, and is the largest research institution – its campuses span more than 350 acres and include nine research institutes, three teaching hospitals and three affiliated engineering institutes. Taught subjects at Hamdard University are split across eight core faculties, which include science and engineering, law, humanities and social sciences. The largest variety of graduate courses sit within the faculty of engineering sciences and technology, where a number of specialist research and short courses in coding also take place. Hamdard’s central library, Bait-ul-Hikmah, is famous as one of the largest libraries in the whole of southern Asia, and boasts more than half a million books and more than 60 different translations of the Qu'ran. The student population comprises around 4,000 undergraduates, 1,000 postgraduates, and 200 doctoral students. Undergraduates can apply for on-site accommodation at the Karachi Main Campus, where one women’s hostel and four men’s hostels are provided. The majority of teaching takes place at Hamdard’s main campus on the outskirts of Karachi, but the university provides its own minibuses and cars to transport students between its satellite campuses around the city where needed. On-site facilities include a variety of shops and book exchange stores, as well as a football field, curated gardens and other green spaces. The main campus is also within reach of Kirthar National Park, a large wildlife reserve popular with tourists. Transport into Karachi city takes around one hour.

FACULTY OPENINGS AT THE SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is Singapore’s first University of Applied Learning, offering industry-relevant degree programmes that prepare its graduates to be work- and future-ready professionals. Faculty in the BCD Cluster undertake funded industry-relevant research, teach courses in Accounting, Aviation Management, Communication Management, and Hospitality Business, as well as supervise industry masters and doctorate students in relevant topics. They are also provided paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or spend time attached with industry. We will prioritise collegial and team-spirited candidates with either (a) an earned Ph.D. or equivalent from a reputable university with specialisation in any of the above-mentioned areas and some relevant work experience, or (b) extensive industry experience with demonstrated strong technical expertise in the above-mentioned areas.  Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) works closely with industry in its research pursuits. This position is situated within the Centre for Immersification, dedicated to applied research in immersive technologies and bridging the gap between academia and industry. Research staff at the Centre have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets relevant to industry demands while working on innovative projects within the university. The research team is seeking a Research Fellow or Research Engineer with strong expertise in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and social science methodologies to lead the user research and policy development, as part of an interdisciplinary team investigating harmful user-generated content in virtual worlds as part of a national research initiative on Online Trust and Safety. The primary responsibility of this role is to investigate users’ experiences with harmful content in these virtual environments, review existing reporting guidelines on these platforms, and evaluate users’ responses to alternative mechanisms. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of faculty members, engineers, and industry partners, including labs at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at NTU. Technical skills, natural curiosity, versatility, and enthusiasm are highly desired traits that will enable success in this fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the research project together with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Conduct a comprehensive review of literature, existing safety policies, community standards, and moderation tools currently used in online social gaming platforms Design and execute surveys and interviews to collect data (including participant recruitment) to address the relevant research questions. Perform statistical analysis on survey/experimental data, and Conduct thematic analysis on interview transcripts and open-ended survey responses. To lead and report research findings in a form of high-quality publications and present in international peer-reviewed conferences and journals. Develop policy recommendations based on the research findings. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Description The Research Center on Stability, Instability and Turbulence (SITE) a center of the Research Institute, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work in the fluid mechanics laboratory for experimental fluid dynamics.  SITE is inviting applications for fully-funded postdoctoral research associate positions. SITE is highly interdisciplinary and aims to develop novel enabling technology on hydrodynamic stability analysis that has applications in the study of the development of singularities, the long-time behavior of complex systems, the formation of spatial patterns, the transition between stability and instability, and the first steps of transition towards turbulence that appear in several disciplines across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and innovation. Candidates must hold (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Applied Physics or a related field.
