The Egyptian Chinese University was established in 2013.
Founded to prepare graduates for the demands of a globalised economy, the university combines academic study with practical application, fostering innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset.
ECU is located in Cairo, Egypt’s bustling capital, known for its rich history, vibrant cultural life, and proximity to world-famous landmarks such as the Pyramids of Giza.
The university operates across two campuses which span across a total area of 30 acres. Both campuses feature modern lecture halls, advanced labs, simulation centres, and dedicated spaces for research and innovation.
ECU comprises nine faculties: engineering and technology, economics and international trade, pharmacy and drug technology, physical therapy, computers and information systems, arts and design, veterinary medicine, media and literary studies, and law and humanities. Each faculty is divided into different departments which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
Since it opened, the university has developed strong international partnerships with leading Chinese institutions, including Beijing Jiaotong University, Liaoning University, and North China University of Electric Power. These partnerships enable joint programme development, student and faculty exchanges, and research projects, reinforcing ECU’s role as a bridge between Egyptian and Chinese academic expertise.
