Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources is a public university located near Gaborone, Botswana. It was established in 2015 and became a university in 2016.
The institution developed from the Botswana College of Agriculture and operates under the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security. Its transition to university status expanded its academic remit within agriculture and natural resource education.
It is based at the Sebele campus, approximately 12 kilometres north of Gaborone. The campus includes teaching and research facilities focused on agricultural sciences and related disciplines.
The university offers programmes in agriculture, food systems and natural resource management. Its academic focus includes training in applied agricultural production, environmental management and resource sustainability.
It also includes specialised training centres. The Meat Industry Training Institute in Lobatse provides instruction in meat inspection and meat technology, originally established in 1984 in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization and the government of Botswana. The Centre for In service and Continuing Education, established in 1995, provides accredited training programmes aligned with industry needs.
