The University of Civil Protection was established in Minsk, Russia in 1933 with the opening of the Fire Technical School to train Minsk’s fire brigade. Although the institution's name has changed several times, its core mission remains; to train specialists for the fire service. 
It gained university status in 1992 and in 2000 it was renamed the Institute for Command Engineers. With the integration of three core educational establishments, the university as it is known today was established: the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations. 
The university is made up of eight faculties and institutes including: emergency prevention and elimination, technosphere safety, administration training, corresponding and distant learning, life activity safety, retraining and professional development and postgraduate scientific education. Through a combination of theoretical and practical training, students at the University of Civil Protection gain a comprehensive understanding of what it means to work in the fire service. 
The training field of the Institute for Retraining and Professional Development is the training base to provide natural and man-made emergency models. A 34-hectare space with 40 training grounds, the base equips students with the tools to deal with emergency situations. On the more theoretical side is the education software used to develop an emergency-response skillset. This special software includes Fire Quest Inspector, Commander, and Investigator. 
In addition to its fire brigade specialisms, the university also offers general purpose courses in the departments of natural sciences, humanities and modern languages to advance students' peripheral preparation for work as a fire brigade member.

(1) Teaching & Learning

(2) Research


	Participate in scholarly activities, including undertaking research, conference presentation, journal publications and relevant community work 
	Support efforts to secure grants for research activities and scholarship as co-researcher 
	Achieve the specified set of research outcome targets for Professor / Associate 
	Professor level of appointment


(3) Administration and Other Activities


	Undertake and contribute in administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participate in committees and working groups within the Department, School and Faculty

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR PROFESSOR


	Possess a PhD in Hospitality (or related field) with at least eight (8) years of academic/industry experience.
	Proven leadership experience in academia or professional practice.
	Skilled in innovative teaching methodologies and use of technology in learning.
	Strong research track record:
	
		h-index of more than 10 (preferred) 
		Main Supervisor for more than three (3) PhD graduates 
		More than ten (10) publications in Q1 and Q2 journals (ISI, SCOPUS,Clarivate) in the last 5 years 
		Secured more than RM150k to RM200k in research grants as main PI

The Astrophotonics Program brings together researchers from astronomy, physics and engineering to design, build and test advanced photonic technologies with applications in radio astronomy, optical astronomy, space science, quantum technologies and national security. 	Significant experience leading research teams and supervising higher degree research (HDR) students and early-career researchers to successful outcomes.
	Expertise in several of the following areas: radio astronomy instrumentation, free-space optical laser communications (terrestrial and/or space applications), and quantum technologies.
	Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a demonstrated commitment to inclusion, diversity, collaboration and research excellence.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our dynamic team in the Sustainable Materials Research Center (SusMat-RC) at UM6P. The successful candidate will work on an exciting project focused on extracting and analyzing experimental and computational data to develop predictive models for polymer-based materials. This project aims to leverage computational chemistry techniques and data-driven approaches to optimize the properties of novel polymer-based materials. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in artificial intelligence and machine learning, with demonstrated experience in developing and training neural networks for predictive modeling.

	Build and evaluate chemical databases based on experimental and computational data.
	Establish predictive models based on artificial intelligence methods.

Your personal sphere of action:

The commercialization of space has led to a dramatic increase in rocket launches and satellites in Earth orbit – with largely unknown consequences for the atmosphere. Possible impacts include effects on the stratospheric ozone layer, the radiation balance of the Earth, and on ice cloud formation.

The research platform “Pollution of the Atmosphere by a Rapidly Growing Space Industry (SPACETRACE)” brings together researchers from three faculties with expertise in aerosol physics, atmospheric sciences, and social sciences to investigate the effects of emissions from rocket launches and the re-entry of space debris on the atmosphere, climate and society.

Within SPACETRACE, four PhD positions (university assistants predoctoral) are available, of which one is within our team, and will focus on the climatic impacts of a growing space industry. Your work will address direct radiative impacts from materials like aluminum released during the burning of satellites when they fall back from their orbit through the atmosphere, which could have significant but highly uncertain climate cooling effects. You will also explore how these re-entry particles may alter cirrus cloud formation patterns, potentially amplifying or reversing any direct radiative effects. Your research will help address these critical knowledge gaps and assess the net climate impact of space activities before they scale dramatically.

	Contribute to the further development of ICON model as needed for your work
	Disseminate your research through high-quality peer-reviewed publications and presentations at conferences
