Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory

Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory was founded in 1866 as the Moscow Imperial Conservatory, however its origins trace back to 1766 when its site was purchased by Princess Ekaterina Romanovna Dashkova. In 1940 it was renamed in honour of the great composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The Conservatory is located in the heart of Moscow, within a grand nineteenth century complex once belonging to Count Vorontsov, the former ambassador of Russia to the UK. The campus boasts its world famous Great Hall, celebrated for its acoustics, ornate architecture, and magnificent Cavaille Coll organ. This hall has hosted a variety of legendary performances and remains one of the city’s most significant cultural landmarks.
Academically, the Conservatory is organised into several faculties and departments including piano, orchestral studies, vocal, musicology and composition, historical and contemporary performance, advanced teacher training, orchestral and choral conducting, chamber music, music technology, foreign languages, and the humanities. It also operates an Academic Music College which provides vocational training at secondary level.
Since its founding, the Conservatory has produced generations of leading musicians and educators, including world renowned composers and performers such as Prokofiev and Rachmaninov. Today it supports around 2,300 students under the guidance of nearly 300 specialist faculty members.
Internationally, the Conservatory has developed several partnerships with the global music community. It hosts masterclasses, joint performances, exchange programmes, cultural festivals, and research collaborations throughout the academic year. It also plays an important role in cultural diplomacy, promoting Russian musical tradition through events such as Universe of Sound and Heart of Japan, as well as through the Russian Japanese Centre for Musical Culture.

The Role

We invite applications for a full-time, permanent Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Sport Development and Management. The successful applicant will have expertise in Sport Development and Management informed by critical socio-cultural, policy and management scholarship.

Key responsibilities include:


	Developing an impactful research programme, publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, securing external research funding, and supervising postgraduate research students.
	Coordinating and delivering research-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including Sport Development and Management (SPEX209), Advanced Sport Management (SPEX314), and Advanced Topics in Sport Management and Policy (SPEX461) with contributions to the taught Master of Sport Development and Management.
	Contributing to curriculum development and academic leadership within the Sport Development and Management major.
	Contributing to the effective operation of the School through service, engagement and collegial participation within the University and wider community.
	Promoting and contributing to the University's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its Māori and Pacific strategic frameworks.


Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role candidates will have:


	A completed doctoral degree in Sport Development, Sport Management, Sport Leadership, or a closely related field.
	Experience of effective undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in a tertiary environment.
	A strong publication record, commensurate with career stage, and demonstrated potential to secure competitive research funding.
	Experience supervising postgraduate research students.
	Commitment to upholding values, tikanga, kawa and traditions as guided by Ngāi Tahu, mana whenua in the region.
	Ability to build productive collaborations and work collegially.
	Practical experience supporting sport development and management initiatives within communities, including indigenous contexts, is desirable.

This is a unique opportunity for an energetic, creative and committed academic to make a significant contribution to Sport Development and Management through teaching, research and engagement while joining a collegial and dynamic School. Sport Development and Management is a vibrant area within the School, with strengths in policy, management, sociology, coaching, psychology and history.

This is a permanent, full-time (1 FTE) position based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

The appointment range for a Lecturer is $97,377 to $114,943 and Senior Lecturer is $120,494 to $137,444.

A cross-disciplinary team of researchers from the University of Southampton, Newcastle University, and Imperial College London are working together on an exciting EPSRC-funded project, SONNETS, to develop solutions for predicting risk in international-scale financial markets. The project is developing event-triggered artificial intelligence approaches that complement existing financial risk models, that can be realised using cloud compute infrastructure and other novel deployment architectures.

Given our team's existing research skillset in novel machine learning approaches, we are recruiting a team of outstanding researchers in cloud compute architecture design and event-triggered computing to work with us on realising SONNETS' ambitious objectives.

Researchers on our team contribute towards:


	Architect event-triggered compute stacks using industry-standard orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes and container workflows), and to engineer loading strategies for managing highly-irregular flows of data from many sources.
	Develop approaches to model the performance of the aforementioned event-triggered systems, and to use these models to optimise SONNETS architectures.
	Collaborate with artificial intelligence model designers in Southampton and at our partner institutions to support your research, which will be disseminated through publications, seminars, conference presentations, public engagement, and ultimately through a proof of concept implementation for the Bank of England.


SONNETS is an interdisciplinary project; we are open to work with researchers with varying academic backgrounds. Those with experience in, for example, machine learning, high-performance computing, reconfigurable hardware, cloud computing, compiler engineering, distributed systems, or DevOps are encouraged to apply, as well as others with related experience that can be applied to further the objectives of this project.

The post will be full time until the end of December 2028.

Your future place is at the Institute for Physiological Chemistry, at the Faculty of Chemistry. You will join the research group of Prof. Veronika Somoza, where you will find excellent opportunities for research in food chemistry and the bioactivity of food compounds. Flavor compounds play a crucial role in the selection and sensory perception of food. Achieving a deeper understanding of their chemistry and bioactivity on a molecular level will support the development of sustainable food products with high consumer preference. Your future tasks:

You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which includes:


	Research on Taste GPCRs: Investigating the molecular mechanisms of G-protein-coupled taste receptors (GPCRs).
	Analysis of Structure-Activity Relationships: Exploring how the chemical structure of ligands controls receptor activation and how these processes affect physiological endpoints (e.g., satiety signals, cytokine levels).
	Conducting Human Studies: Designing, organizing, and executing animal trials as well as human clinical studies to investigate receptor functionality in relation to inflammatory processes and satiety regulation mechanisms.
	Elucidating Cellular Networks: Linking sensory phenotypes with the molecular and biological functions of GPCRs.

The Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The department will pursue tenure consideration for qualified candidates. The anticipated start date is August 2027.

Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in nuclear engineering-related subjects, developing and sustaining an externally funded research program, advising graduate students, publishing scholarly work, and providing service to the department, college, university, and professional community.

The UT Department of Nuclear Engineering is the largest Nuclear Engineering PhD program in the United States, with a diverse research portfolio and close collaborations with Idaho National Laboratory (INL), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), the Y-12 National Security Complex, and more than 150 nuclear-related companies within 50 miles of the campus. The department is housed in the state-of-the-art Zeanah Engineering Complex, home to more than 20 nuclear engineering laboratories and computational resources. The department is committed to cultivating work/life balance and a family-friendly environment for faculty, staff, and students.

The Tickle College of Engineering (TCE), comprised of nine departments that house 213 tenure-track and BO+ non-tenure-track faculty, is in the midst of unprecedented growth under Chancellor Donde Plowman and Dean Matthew Mench, having added 30+ new faculty over the past 4 years and set records in research expenditures ($113.9M in FY25J, enrollment (4,800 undergraduate and 1,500 graduate students), and increased ranking (now 28th among public universities) in the US News and World Report list of top engineering colleges. Qualifications


	We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests strengthen and broaden the department's capabilities in one or more of the following areas: reliability and maintainability of nuclear systems and components; data analytics, artificial intelligence, digital twin technologies, and cyber security for nuclear applications; nuclear instrumentation and control; radiation instrumentation; robust decision-making, empirical/data-driven modeling, and process & equipment monitoring; thermal-fluid sciences and experimental reactor thermal-hydraulics.
	Candidates whose work bridges experimentation, computational modeling, sensing, and thermal­fluid or reactor systems analysis in support of reliable, sustainable nuclear power are especially encouraged to apply. Ideally, successful candidates will be able to contribute across more than one of these areas.
