Penny Green could not be more wrong in arguing that universities should be 鈥渂oycotting all government institutions in Myanmar鈥, including higher education providers, in the wake of the crackdown on Rohingya Muslims (鈥Universities pressured to cut Myanmar ties鈥, News, 2 November).
Isolating Myanmar academics and students will further entrench minds here: the government and the military will respond in kind, setting the country back to the bad old days. That is good for no one, except those whom Green hopes to 鈥減unish鈥.
