Partners or children of serving Gurkhas and other Commonwealth Service personnel will pay reduced tuition fees at the University of Winchester from September. Dependants of the Nepalese servicemen will pay 拢3,145, the same fee as UK students, instead of international fees of 拢7,549, providing they have been resident in the UK for at least five years. Tommy Geddes, pro vice-chancellor, said: "We feel it's important for the university to acknowledge the commitment and loyal service the Gurkha soldiers have demonstrated over the past 200 years."
