The possibility that breast-feeding can prevent post-natal depression is being explored by researchers at the University of Essex. The 拢240,000 project, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, is billed as the most comprehensive survey of its kind ever undertaken. It will explore the relationships between natural feeding and a child's early development, including literacy, numeracy and social skills.
