Russian university and research centres working in energy, environment and climate areas are likely to witness a bonanza as the country moves to a system of carbon trading. The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has approved draft regulations to allow foreign companies to trade energy-efficient technology with Russian companies in return for carbon credits. Trade from about 30 planned projects is worth an estimated ?120 million in the first year.
