Europe鈥檚 universities outlined their potential role in the continent鈥檚 future, to coincide with European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker鈥檚 annual State of the Union speech.
A Association statement said that 鈥渁ll stakeholders鈥 must 鈥渆nsure the free flow of ideas and people in Europe and promote it throughout the world鈥.
Universities 鈥渁re some of the most efficient promoters of European values鈥 and can contribute in areas 鈥渇rom regional development to science and academic diplomacy鈥, the statement said.
The EUA 鈥渨ould welcome an exchange of evidence and ideas going forward, both for the benefit of European education, research and innovation and the European project as a whole,鈥 it added.
