SLEEPING babies are to have their breathing measured as part of a study into cot death. Researchers at Leicester University want to find out whether babies become less sensitive to changes in oxygen levels at certain periods of their development. Babies aged between six and 18 weeks will wear bands around their chest and stomach as they sleep in their own homes. Statisticians will analyse data collected by these bands to test how much they control their breathing at different stages.
