If psychotherapists want respect for alternatives to randomised controlled trials, they must outline them clearly, not model their rhetoric on that of homeopaths (鈥Jury鈥檚 out on trial by ideological ordeal鈥, Letters, 14 February): 鈥渃owed and brutalised by the combination of accountancy and mathematics鈥 translates to me as 鈥渢hey won鈥檛 let us spend money on therapies with no provable effect鈥. Funny that.
