Some 拢21 million has apparently been spent on mothballing the Dome. Some 拢1.7 billion will be needed to bail out the nuclear power industry. The Individual Learning Accounts are overspent by 拢59 million ("Trainers may sue government over ILA axe", THES , December 14). Yet the finances needed to properly reward the world-class university research just delivered can't be found. What was that slogan again? Education, education, education?
