RESEARCH into such common disorders as asthma, heart disease and osteoporosis has been boosted by the creation of a Pounds 3 million clinical research unit. The result of a collaboration between Southampton University's school of medicine and Southampton University Hospitals Trust, the facility will boast beds, an outpatient clinic and state-of-the art procedure rooms. The unit will be located at Southampton General Hospital.
