The Role

Maynooth University is seeking to recruit an Assistant Registrar (Academic Administration) to lead the Registry functions of the University. Reporting to the Vice President Academic and Registrar, the person is expected to lead the development of academic processes, procedures and systems, and to manage the four Registry Units (Student Records and Registration; Examinations and Assessment; Curriculum Services; Timetabling) and other administrative functions.

Registry is one of the core administrative functions of the University. It is responsible for the academic administration of the University, throughout the full life-cycle of a student. It is both a student facing support service and a key provider of services to academic staff. It is comprised of the following areas and services:


	Student Records and Registration Office – responsible for the organisation of student registration, collection and maintenance of accurate data on student registrations, maintaining the enduring records of student achievement, for the provision of academic transcripts, and the use and update of systems which support these functions;
	Examinations and Assessment Office – responsible for the coordination and management of the university examination processes including the production, publication and maintenance of examination timetables; the logistical arrangements for written examinations, the collation of all student results for University Examination Board meetings, the administration of the examination process for research degrees, the release of official examination results to students, and the organisation of the University’s conferring ceremonies.
	Curriculum Services Office – responsible for the management of the Academic Database (which is the University’s system of record for all programme structure information), the provision of the University’s Student Vetting function, management all non-routine, special permission requests from current and past students, and the management of all internal programme transfer applications. 
	Timetabling Office – responsible for the production and publication of academic timetables for students, and for managing the efficient use of central teaching spaces.


Recognising that the Registry is also a key source of data for the University, and is responsible for reporting on programmes, registration, graduation and other data, including reports to external bodies. The work of Registry is supported by a Business Analyst and an administrator who work across all Units.

Salary:

Senior Administration II (2026): €112,233 – €150,023 p.a. (6 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

About the opportunity

The Clinical Research Midwife supports the clinical trial process, from planning to execution, ensuring a seamless transition through all stages.  The midwife will support the HEaT inform study being conducted in the climate chamber at The University of Sydney and investigating pregnant women's physiological responses to different temperature conditions. They handle data capture, verification, and overall adherence to standards while fostering relationships with research staff and stakeholders. They ensure Good Clinical Practice and that every aspect of the trial meets the highest ethical and scientific standards.  Provide clinical care within scope of registration and professional practice, where required as part of the study protocol, including responding to medical events or emergencies during study activities.

Reporting to Professor Adrienne Gordon, your key responsibilities will be to:


	support the end-to-end clinical trial process, assisting with the planning, initiation, and execution of trials, and ensuring smooth operations
	provide clinical care within scope of registration and professional practice, as required under the study protocol
	capture data and verification for clinical trials, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations, in accordance with ethics guidelines and workplace health and safety regulations, preparing materials for committee submissions
	build productive relationships with research staff, trial sponsors, and external vendors, facilitating effective communication and collaboration
	uphold the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in all clinical trials, ensuring that ethical and scientific quality standards are met in design, conduct, recording, and reporting
	support stakeholder communications, ensuring that concerns are addressed effectively and timely while fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within the work area and beyond
	facilitate timely report submission, uphold data integrity according to university systems, and partner with managers to advance compliance initiatives
	use critical thinking and problem solving to analyse midwifery practice to provide safe, appropriate and responsive quality support to research trial participants. Respond effectively to emergency situations and the change status of patients as required
	champion a proactive approach to health and safety, review and provide feedback on work area protocols, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent safety standards across tasks and projects.


About you

We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Research Midwife, who possesses:


	tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience in midwifery practice
	current Registered Midwife with APHRA with post graduate midwifery experience.
	previous experience in research with a focus on management of clinical studies/trials
	demonstrated commitment to professional development
	an understanding of issues related to adverse obstetric outcomes: particularly in relation to fetal growth restriction, pre-eclampsia, preterm delivery and stillbirth
	experience with antenatal patient interaction
	demonstrated understanding and experience in complying with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy and other relevant guidelines.
	demonstrated experience working across multidisciplinary teams and ability to build effective relations with colleagues and stakeholders
	excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
	possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day to day operational matters
	experience using RedCap software for data capture
	understanding of research ethics and relevant aspects of Work Health and Safety Policy.

Doctoral Researcher in Digital Integrated Circuits

We are now looking for a Doctoral Researcher (PhD student) to join the Tiny Systems and Circuits (TSirc) group at Aalto University's Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering. In this position you will design the next generation of energy-efficient digital integrated circuits, taking them from RTL to a fabricated chip and PCB that you measure in our own labs. The position is part of the HolistIC project, which develops ultra-low-power system-on-chip designs for next-generation intelligent audio IoT sensors.

Your Role and Goals

As a Doctoral Researcher, you will:


	Design energy-efficient digital in-memory computing circuits for on-chip AI inference, spanning both full-custom design and RTL-based flows through synthesis and place-and-route to tape-out
	Verify and characterise your designs, from simulation and FPGA to measurement of the fabricated chips in our laboratory
	Publish and present your results at leading international venues, and complete your doctoral thesis in the Aalto Doctoral Programme in Electrical Engineering
	Contribute to teaching duties as part of your doctoral studies


Your Network and Team 

Currently, our research group consists of 1 professor, 3 PhD students, and several MSc or BSc research collaborators. The group is led by Professor Kwantae Kim.

Your Experience and Ambitions

We are looking for a thorough and motivated colleague who is expected to:


	Hold a Master’s degree and excellent study records in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, completed by the start of the position
	Have a solid background in digital hardware design: Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL, logic synthesis, and place-and-route
	Be familiar with Python programming
	Have a working proficiency in English. (Finnish language is not required.)


The following are considered an advantage


	Experience with FPGA prototyping
	Experience with the PyTorch framework
	Experience with analog or full-custom layout
	Prior tape-out experience in any technology


What We Offer


	We support a wide range of chip design tools required for tape-out (Cadence, Synopsys, etc.), and FPGA/PCB design.
	We have dedicated technical staff who manage PDK NDAs and maintain the computing cluster for circuit simulation and PDK installation.
	We provide chip measurement infrastructure covering DC to THz bandwidth at the School of Electrical Engineering.
	We collaborate with academic partners in Europe and Asia, including research visits abroad.


The contract is fixed-term and follows Aalto's standard 2+2 model. It will be made initially for two (2) years, with a six (6) month probationary period, and extended by two (2) further years after a successful mid-term review, giving a total duration of four (4) years. The starting salary for doctoral researcher is approximately 3100€/Month.

FRONTIER TRANLSATIONAL MEDICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE

To accelerate the translation of groundbreaking medical research into real-world applications, the Frontier Translational Medical Research Institute (TMRI) works to bring promising medical biotechnology discoveries from the laboratory to the public, focusing on translational research, product development, and eventually, commercialisation.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator or his/her delegate, the candidate will be responsible for scientific inputs, research and development, and project management, mainly stationed at the University’s research facility located at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks. 

Post-doctoral Research Fellow / Research Associate (26270051)

Responsibilities:

The appointee will perform the following duties:


	To involve in vaccine research and development; 
	To assist with planning and implementing experiment works;
	To analyse results and prepare experiment reports;
	To maintain detailed, signed laboratory notebook; 
	To comply with all biosafety regulations; and
	To provide support for various tasks in relation to the research projects.


Requirements:


	A master’s degree or above from a recognised university in immunology, virology, molecular biology, or relevant biological sciences field, and with at least 4 years’ relevant post-qualification research experience. Ph.D. degree holder may be considered for the post Post-doctoral Research Fellow;
	Experience with the following and other techniques: molecular cloning and expression of vaccine antigens, cell culture assay for neutralisation antibodies, flow cytometry analyses of T-cell responses, and nanoparticle formulation;
	A passionate and dynamic individual who possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills, is attentive to details, and is a self-starter with the ability to work under pressure;
	Possess knowledge on method development; and
	Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English, Cantonese and Putonghua.


The appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.

Your personal sphere of action:

The commercialization of space has led to a dramatic increase in rocket launches and satellites in Earth orbit – with largely unknown consequences for the atmosphere. Possible impacts include effects on the stratospheric ozone layer, the radiation balance of the Earth, and on ice cloud formation.

The research platform “Pollution of the Atmosphere by a Rapidly Growing Space Industry (SPACETRACE)” brings together researchers from three faculties with expertise in aerosol physics, atmospheric sciences, and social sciences to investigate the effects of emissions from rocket launches and the re-entry of space debris on the atmosphere, climate and society.

Within SPACETRACE, four PhD positions (university assistants predoctoral) are available, of which one is within our team, and will focus on the climatic impacts of a growing space industry. Your work will address direct radiative impacts from materials like aluminum released during the burning of satellites when they fall back from their orbit through the atmosphere, which could have significant but highly uncertain climate cooling effects. You will also explore how these re-entry particles may alter cirrus cloud formation patterns, potentially amplifying or reversing any direct radiative effects. Your research will help address these critical knowledge gaps and assess the net climate impact of space activities before they scale dramatically.

	Lead independent research on your doctoral thesis topic
	Contribute to the further development of ICON model as needed for your work
	Disseminate your research through high-quality peer-reviewed publications and presentations at conferences
	Teach independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement

	Become an active member of the Vienna International School of Earth and Space Sciences (VISESS / doctoral school)
