Preah Sihamoniraja Buddhist University (PSBU)

Founded on July 24, 2007, PSBU was established by the Supreme Patriarch of the Dhamma??utta Order, His Holiness Samdech Preah Abhisiri Sugandha Mahasangharajah Dhipati Bour Kry, originally evolving from a high school within Svay Pope Monastery to an accredited university under Sub-Decree No. 86. Named by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, PSBU stands today as a beacon of accessible, values-driven higher education in Cambodia, grounded in Buddhist ethics.

PSBU aspires to nurture leaders enriched by moral, ethical, and academic excellence, contributing to education, social security, and economic development with prestige and confidence both nationally and internationally. Academic Offerings & Faculties

PSBU offers a rich spectrum of academic programs across four main faculties:

• Philosophy, Religion & Law – including Buddhist Studies combined with Economics, Environmental Planning, Psychology, Hospitality Management, Politics; also Philosophy, Public Administration, Private Law, and Criminal Justice
• Educational Sciences & Literature – featuring Education in Early Childhood, Khmer Literature, Business & Management, Hospitality & Tourism, Sports Management, Psychology & Counseling
• Pali Sanskrit & Foreign Languages – offering programs in English and Sanskrit
• Information Technology & Computer Science – covering Computer Networking & Security, Creative Multimedia, and Engineering fields in Agriculture, Civil, and Electrical & Computer streams

Programs are available at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels, supporting a breadth of academic interest from humanities to applied sciences.

PSBU is fully accredited by Cambodia’s Accreditation Committee (ACC) and recognized by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Cults & Religion, and the Ministry of Education, Youth & Sport, ensuring compliance with national standards across academic, professional, and cultural domains. Internationally, it holds credentials from ASIC (UK), IEAC, and QAHE (USA), while also supporting global recognition via WES. As a member of both IAU and INQAAHE, PSBU demonstrates active participation in international quality assurance networks. Notably, PSBU earned accreditation from QAHE in March 2024, affirming its academic and institutional excellence.
