Istanbul Yeni Yuzyil University was founded in 2009 as a diversification in the network of institutions run by the Vatan Health and Education Foundation, which dates back to 1974.
Its main campus is in the Topkapi district.
Beginning with 860 students in seven faculties and two vocational schools in 2009, it expanded by 2025 to a roll of 19,000 distributed across faculties of dentistry, pharmacy, arts and science, fine arts, law, economic and administrative science, communication, engineering and architecture, health science, sports science and medicine.
Most students study at the main campus, contained in a brightly coloured and strikingly branded tower block in Topkapi.
Medical students work from their third year onwards at the Gaziosmanpasa Hospital, offering 336 beds and 117 polyclinics while dentists study at Beyoglu Halicioglu and continuing education is offered at the new Yenisem campus in Sirinevler.
