Instituto Superior Politécnico de Soyo was formed in 2011. It is located in the city of Soyo, close to the mouth of the river Congo in Angola’s northern border state of Zaire.?
It operates from two sites. There is the smaller 1 de Maio city centre site’s convenience for students while the larger Kitombi site hosts its computer rooms and laboratories.
The intention is to create capacity for 5,000 students, with 40 new classrooms and 18 laboratories enabling the creation of further extension classes along with courses in petroleum, agri-food engineering and clinical analysis as well as residences for staff and students.
There is a Faculty of Engineering with programmes in computer engineering, mechanical engineering, and industrial and maintenance engineering, along with the Education Department’s options of primary teaching and mathematics teaching.

The Position

NCI is looking for an experienced front-end Developer to take a lead role in the development of user-facing components of the GUARDIANS (human Genomics Uplift for Australia through Research Data Infrastructure At National Scale) Project.

The Person


	2–4 years of experience as a front-end developer.
	Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like Angular, React and Node.js.
	Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and web performance optimisation.
	Experience working with REST and GraphQL APIs.
	Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and collaborative development practices.
	Strong eye for design and user experience — you care about how things look and feel as much as how they work.
	Full stack knowledge (NestJS, databases, AWS) is a plus but not required.

????The position is based within the Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology at King's College London, which is part of the School of Life Course and Population Sciences within the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine. The department is dedicated to studying twins and other longitudinal cohorts to elucidate the genetic and environmental determinants of health and disease. Our comprehensive research portfolio includes studies and analyses of genetics, epigenetics, and the influence of environmental factors - such as lifestyle and diet - on complex diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular conditions, diabetes and osteoporosis. Additionally, the department explores the ageing process and the pivotal role of the microbiome in health, making significant contributions to the fields of genetic epidemiology and public health. About the role

We are seeking an energetic and dynamic communicator with a passion for science communication and engagement. The research programme at the Department is expanding and we are looking for someone to lead on research communications and engagement across multiple new and existing studies. You will lead the development and delivery of external communications across the Department of Twin Research. The role will deliver inclusive strategies to engage underrepresented groups and enhance participant recruitment and experience, while also raising the profile of our resources, researchers and study findings with the public and scientific community.?

You will be a strong content creator with experience in multi-channel communication campaigns. You will design and deliver communications across?press, newsletters and websites to events, videos and social media. The post also involves developing clear participant communications, supporting recruitment and retention, and helping shape public engagement activities.?

A key part of the role will be working closely with our Volunteer Advisory Panel (VAP) and through patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) activity, ensuring participant voices are represented and help guide our engagement strategies.??

Alongside this, you’ll work with colleagues across King’s, NHS partners, advisory groups and community organisations to coordinate activities and build networks. You’ll also line manage the Communications and Engagement Officer and contribute to embedding good practice across the team.?

This is a full time maternity cover post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a ?fixed term? contract for 31 December 2026 or until the return of the substantive post holder.

	Guide student projects by embedding ethical reflection, policy implications, and stakeholder perspectives into their analyses.
	Develop and facilitate teaching modules on responsible research and innovation (RRI), technology governance, and ethics of AI, biotechnology, and sustainability.
	Help students map values, anticipate unintended consequences, and navigate ethical dilemmas in real-world applications.
	Support integration of participatory methods, policy brief writing, and impact assessments into the WiP framework.

The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses two Innovation Centres – Rapid Product Innovation and Development (RaPID) Centre and SIT-Poly Innovation Centre of Excellence (SPICE) Centre.
