Established on 1 October 2024 through the merger of Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Tokyo Institute of Technology, Institute of Science Tokyo is a new interdisciplinary university located across Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan. It offers innovative education combining science, medicine, engineering, liberal arts and social sciences.
Students can pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, doctoral programmes, study abroad and global exchange opportunities, as well as extracurricular and cross-disciplinary learning experiences.
Institute of Science Tokyo operates six campuses, including Ookayama Campus, Yushima Campus and Suzukakedai Campus (renamed Yokohama Campus in 2026).
Facilities include research laboratories, medical and dental training centres, liberal arts and innovation spaces, modern libraries and learning support hubs, and new multidisciplinary centres.
