Disability Support & Inclusion works to remove barriers faced by disabled students so that they can participate within the King’s community on an equal level to their peers. We offer information, advice and guidance to disabled students (both prospective and current students) as part of the Student Services department. Through offering practical and professional advice and guidance, we aim to enhance the support provided within academic faculties and tailor it to ensure the bespoke needs of individuals are considered and met. In addition, Disability Support & Inclusion plays a crucial role in embedding inclusive practices as standard across the university.

We are part of the Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so.

About the role:

Disability Advisers are responsible for providing accurate and relevant information, advice, and guidance, impartially and confidentially to disabled applicants and students.

They work collaboratively within DS&I and across King’s College London’s faculties, departments, and professional services, as well as with external agencies to provide a high-quality disability support service to facilitate disabled students’ full participation in their studies.

Disability Advisers liaise with colleagues within the university to review, develop and implement policies, practices, and procedures to enhance access and inclusion of disabled students. They also work to support initiatives that raise awareness of the needs of disabled students throughout King’s, and to develop and deliver associated training.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with a developed understanding of disability to demonstrate your skills in working with a diverse client population within a valued service.

This is a part time post (21 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria


	Relevant work experience and/or education: We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. Relevant work experience might include work in an advisory capacity where disabled people formed part of the caseload, or work in educational settings relating to disability. Relevant educational experiences might include higher education in a related discipline, professional qualifications or other training.
	Competent at operating appropriate IT systems, including experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and Excel, and ideally including a case management system. ?
	Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to deal effectively and sensitively with people making varied and complex enquiries, providing accurate and clear guidance.?
	Experience of providing information, advice and guidance and/or experience of providing disability-related support.?
	Understanding of disability support issues for students in 糖心Vlog and knowledge of funding and support available to disabled students. ?
	Good working knowledge of the Equality Act and how this applies to students in an HEI environment.


Desirable criteria


	Experience of contributing to publications, websites, annual reports and guidance (such as factsheets. ?
	Experience of providing training in disability awareness, and ideally in embedding inclusive practices within education. ?
	Experience of contributing to the development and improvement of systems and procedures.

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney's School of Veterinary Science  is seeking an accomplished and respected industry leader to join as a Professor or Associate Professor of Practice in Veterinary Primary Care (small animal). This pivotal role will focus on shaping the next generation of veterinarians, specifically in the field of small animal primary care, where the majority of veterinary graduates will build their careers.

Located within the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (UVTHS) in Camperdown, the primary care team delivers a wide range of general practice services including wellness consultations, vaccinations, preventative health, diagnostic testing, dentistry, and surgical services. The team works collaboratively with specialists and researchers to ensure a comprehensive approach to animal health and welfare, supported by access to state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatments.

As the successful candidate, you will bring extensive clinical experience in private practice or a university teaching hospital setting, demonstrating strong leadership and professional standing within the veterinary industry. While an academic background is valued, this role prioritises real-world experience and expertise in primary care veterinary practice.
