Delegates to the Political Studies Association conference at Bath University last week found this statement in their conference packs:

"The PSA apologises that Professor Pippa Norris (Harvard) is unable to attend the plenary session advertised in the conference brochure... As a registered charity, the PSA felt unable to meet her request for a business-class flight from the US costing ?4,200."
