Leeds University academics are a healthy bunch. A scheme to offer staff bicycles at a discount has proved so popular that the university has had to double its budget. Steffi Hasse, Leeds's transport co-ordinator, said cycling was "great fun" - and Janet Hindle, a careers adviser, agreed. Presumably that was before the saddle sores appeared.
